Honors College Scholarships

The Honors College is dedicated to supporting Georgia Southern students as they pursue both internal and external scholarship opportunities. We guide students through the process of applying for competitive fellowships and scholarships, helping them move from students to scholars.

Developing a scholarship application is more than a submission; it’s an opportunity for students to reflect on their goals, assess their skills, and make meaningful plans for the future. Each step in the application process builds confidence, strengthens self-awareness, and prepares students for success after graduation.

In recent years, more than 60 Georgia Southern students have received recognition from prestigious programs, including U.S. Department of State awards like the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, Critical Language Scholarship, and Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. Our students have also won or earned honors from the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, the Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Fellowship, the Boren Scholarship, and many others.

The Honors College serves as the central resource for all students applying for nationally and internationally competitive scholarships. Our staff offers information sessions, class discussions, group workshops, and one-on-one advising to help students prepare strong applications. For scholarships that require institutional nominations, the Honors College coordinates application reviews and campus committee interviews, as well as facilitates campus endorsements when needed.

Some scholarships require institutional nomination, while others allow students to apply independently. Whether or not a nomination is required, students are encouraged to follow campus deadlines to receive full support in developing a strong application. By working closely with the Honors College, Georgia Southern students gain the tools and support to pursue scholarship opportunities with confidence.
